Crosstrail

The aim of the project is to improve the tourist image of the program area, by promoting the areas in particular during the March-November period. In fact, one of the objectives is to exploit the opportunities that the territory makes available during the intermediate seasons, an aspect that is currently largely neglected. To achieve this, we intend to promote trail running and sky running. In recent years, trail running has developed exponentially and the number of lovers of this discipline is constantly growing, it can also be practiced throughout the year in areas under 1,000 m and from 6 to 9 months a year in areas above these heights. With the aim of attracting the growing slice of trail runners tourism, the project is going to develop and map a network of trails (already present) dedicated to trail running and offer fans a complete proposal that combines logistics, technical, naturalistic and cultural information. Are going to be created, both a paper and a digital one containing trail running routes, technical data sheets for proper training, GPS tracks downloadable from the site, information on places of historical and natural interest and information on accommodation facilities in the area. To promote the new routes the project plans to organize some days with high-level workshops and events related to trail running.

The project CROSSTRAIL is co-financed in the framework of the cooperation programme Interreg V-A Italy-Austria and the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF).
