TeleCareHub - Technical approaches for people and care.

Platform for technology-assisted care and support for people with dementia living at home

In the TeleCareHub project (2022-2026), a network for digital support in nursing and care is to be established, which brings together the actors and shows ways in which people with dementia living at home can be well accompanied.

TeleCareHub is an Austrian lead project under the project management of the Vorarlberg University of Applied Sciences, with the goal of bringing telecare and care in Austria to a broad application in practice.

The technology on which TeleCareHub is based is a platform that can be accessed via the Internet. People with care needs, their family members and professional caregivers can access this platform and compile support services individually from a variety of modules. Since every person and every group of people is different, our aim is not to offer a “standard solution”, but to provide suitable, individual support.

The offers and solutions on the platform are diverse. They serve to impart knowledge about clinical pictures or the right behavior in stressful situations. Measured vital parameters, such as blood pressure, pulse, sugar levels, etc., can be automatically forwarded to a nursing station or doctor’s office. Even video consultation by doctors is possible. Automatic fall detection and automatic detection of changes in the clinical picture with notification to trusted persons ensure safety. Reminders help people to cope with everyday life. But it will also be possible to make very simple offers for networking with other people affected by the disease.

TeleCareHub is co-financed within the framework of the FFG program benefit with funds from the Federal Ministry for Climate Protection, Environment, Energy, Mobility, Innovation and Technology.
