Additive manufacturing (AM) describes a manufacturing process in which three-dimensional components are generated by applying material layer by layer. As a research group, we are primarily concerned with the Fused Deposition Modelling (FDM) process and the use of innovative materials. We focus primarily on continuous fibre-reinforced materials and refer to these as High Performance Composites (HPC). The philosophy pursued here can be described as
“From microstructure to macrostructure”.
The perfect fibre is the basis of perfect components. Therefore, we research in the basic area of AM technology and improve it with regard to its quality.
