On the occasion of Europe Day currently funded EU projects were presented to a wider public on 9 May 2019. The framework program which was organized by Europe Direct Carinthia included an opening ceremony with political representatives and a musical flash mob with the symphonic orchestra Villach in the afternoon.<\/p>\n\n

Presentation of Smart Living Technologies on Europe Day<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n

The AAL Research Unit presented its research activities. Visitors had the ability to learn more about CARE4TECH, a project on Smart Living Technologies that has been successfully run by Carinthia University of Applied Sciences (CUAS) since 2016. In a more direct way they had the opportunity to test innovative products developed in the framework of the project Smart VitAALity. They could try out the tablet and various health measurement devices that have been tested in 100 households in Carinthia. Visitors showed great interest and some of them arranged further meetings to visit the labs of CUAS to learn more about the activities of the Research Unit.<\/p>\n\n

About CARE4TECH \u2013 Cross Sectoral Alliances for Smart Living<\/strong><\/p>\n

CARE4TECH<\/a> combines, in an innovative way, 2020 research agenda technology oriented principles & goals in the field of Smart Living Technologies, with a quadruple helix, multilevel policy-oriented approach. The project aims at creating a transnational Living Lab in the Alpine Space Region offering an open innovation eco-system of Smart Living Excellence where partners and stakeholders can be brought together to cocreate and innovate. The project combines the excellence of 11 partners from Germany, Slovenia, Italy, Switzerland and France. It is co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund in the framework of the Interreg Alpine Space Program. About SMART VITAALITY \u2013 Carinthian Pilot Region for AAL and Smart Living Technologies<\/strong><\/p>\n

Smart VitAAlity<\/a> aims at developing and testing a smart technical system to increase health, wellbeing and social participation of older adults in their daily lives. It uses different applications to measure and analyze the health status (e.g. blood pressure), to activate an alarm system in case of emergency, and to foster networking within the target group. Smart VitAAlity is a cooperative research project in the framework of the FFG program and is cofinanced by the Austrian Federal Ministry for Transport, Innovation and Technology.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t
