The ICT 2018 took place in Vienna on 4-6 December 2018. This EU research and innovation event attracted 4800 visitors and focused on the European Union\u2019s priorities in the digital transformation of society and industry. Margarete Schramb\u00f6ck, Austrian Minister for Digital and Economic Affairs, opened the event with a key note. Watch the full opening ceremony here<\/a>.<\/p>\n „A digitalised industry can help us protect the environment and create new jobs.“ – Margarete Schramb\u00f6ck<\/p><\/blockquote>\n The „Austrian Village“ hosted an exhibition with highlights from the Austrian research community, covering a broad range of ICT applications in economy and society. Carinthia University of Applied Sciences, represented by Johannes Oberzaucher, Daniela Str\u00f6ckl and Daniela Krainer proudly presented the current research project Smart VitAALity<\/a>, a Pilot Region for testing and evaluating Active and Assisted Living Technologies to promote healthy ageing.<\/p>\n As a side event the Imagine18 Campaign<\/a> took place. During the Session „Smart Living, Trustworthy IoT and Datamarket“, organized together with AAL Austria<\/a> and further pilot regions, we were presenting Smart VitAALity and led a workshop discussion related to \u201cAnchoring Telemonitoring into AAL (Eco-)Systems“.
