{"id":251,"date":"2020-06-03T17:48:28","date_gmt":"2020-06-03T15:48:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/forschung.fh-kaernten.at\/respect\/?page_id=251"},"modified":"2020-06-03T17:53:46","modified_gmt":"2020-06-03T15:53:46","slug":"welcome-at-respect","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/forschung.fh-kaernten.at\/respect\/welcome-at-respect\/?lang=en","title":{"rendered":"Welcome at RESPECT"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>About us<\/h2>\n<p>The \u201eRF Systems and Circuits Lab\u201d at the Carinthia University of Applied Sciences is researching Radio Frequency (RF) related fields ranging from RF integrated circuit design to RF system modeling as well as development of application driven RF embedded systems.<\/p>\n<p>The \u201eRF Systems and Circuits Lab\u201d is associated to different study programs within the faculty of Engineering &amp; IT. Therefore, it enables close research cooperation and know\u2010how exchange between different RF related fields of expertise.<\/p>\n<p>The research for the 3 sub\u2010fields of the \u201cRF Systems and Circuits Lab\u201d is supported by the Engineering &amp; IT study programs \u201cIntegrated Systems and Circuits Design\u201d, \u201cSystems Design\u201d, \u201cHealth Care IT\u201d and \u201cCommunication Engineering\u201d.<\/p>\n<p><strong>RF Integrated Circuits (IC\u2010Lab)<\/strong><br \/>IC design of RF building blocks like LNA, mixer, power amplifier and modern sampling receivers. Modeling and design of transceiver frontends in System\u2010in\u2010package (SiP) technologies and coexistence problems like self\u2010interference cancelation.<\/p>\n<p><strong>RF System Integration (SI\u2010Lab)<\/strong><br \/>Modeling, simulation and verification of RF systems on printed circuit board (PCB) level. Important fields of expertise are electromagnetic field simulations using FEM solvers from Ansys (HFSS, Q3D) or Keysight (ADS) and RF measurements.<\/p>\n<p><strong>RF Applications<\/strong><br \/>RFID and tracking for sports telematics, wireless sensors for active and assisted living (AAL), and smart wireless sensor networks<\/p>\n<h2>Goals<\/h2>\n<p>The \u201eRF Systems and Circuits Lab\u201d is associated to different study programs within the faculty of Engineering &amp; IT. It enables close research cooperation and know\u2010how exchange between different RF related fields of expertise, which is a requirement to handle complex \u201cmulti\u2010disciplinary\u201d RF related research and development tasks.<\/p>\n<p>A main focus of the \u201eRF Systems and Circuits Lab\u201d is to be a strong and attractive R&amp;D partner for local industry as well as a competent research partner for national and international cooperative research projects.<\/p>\n<h2>Projects<\/h2>\n<p>The following projects are examples of research and development activities within the Lab:<\/p>\n<p><strong>RFFE LAB:<\/strong><br \/>Research Lab for RF Frontend Circuits and Systems<\/p>\n<p><strong>ANAGEN:<\/strong><br \/>Development of an agile-analog design methodology where the IC analog engineering knowledge will be captured in executable generators<\/p>\n<p><strong>IDEATION (IC\u2010Lab):<\/strong><br \/>Basic research on full\u2010duplex high\u2010speed on\u2010chip data communication.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Free Seat (SI\u2010Lab):<\/strong><br \/>Development of a Passenger detection System<\/p>\n<p><strong>Sports Timing&amp;Tracking (App\u2010Lab):<\/strong><br \/>Development and field tests of a combination of a passive RFID timing chip with an ultra low power tracking device.<\/p>\n<h2>Team<\/h2>\n<p><strong>Leadership:<\/strong><br \/>Johannes Sturm<\/p>\n<p><strong>Staff:<\/strong><br \/>Ebrahimi, B.
