Climate Compass for Municipalities

About
Through the Interreg project “Climate Compass for Municipalities,” municipalities are supported on their path to climate neutrality through interdisciplinary collaboration. The goal of the project is a climate plan—an instrument that helps municipalities find a concrete path to climate neutrality and create new economic development opportunities for the three municipalities of Tarvisio, Ritten, and Moosburg.
Project Description
The project is developed through work packages (WPs), which include the following:
WP1
Data collection and analysis in the municipalities on the topics of energy, CO2, and waste management, focusing on the sectors of housing, services, industry and tourism.
WP2
Development of energy scenarios and comparison with stakeholders and the local community.
WP3
Translation of theoretical models into concrete practices: Involvement of communities, associations, and schools to develop sustainable practices in energy, waste, and water management, as well as to promote environmental responsibility.
WP4
Promotion and capitalization of results through the shared use of best practices, organization of cross-border events, implementation of pilot projects, and monitoring of energy performance over time.
WP5
Promotion of the Climate Compass: Aiming for networking and transferability to other regions.
