This research work is done in close collaboration with researchers of the CUAS School of Civil Engineering and Architecture. We also collaborate with researchers from the Institut Jean Lamour, University of Lorraine, France.

Power and data transfer solutions, for integrated sensors

Not all sensors are passive. Active integrated sensors need to be powered, and this often constitutes a massive challenge. To avoid cables, wireless charging solutions are needed. Some of them can even be used to transfer data, through specific modulation schemes. At CiSMAT, we aim to develop a versatile solution, to transfer energy and wirelessly read integrated sensors, using ultrasonic waves. Compared to NFC techniques, the use of ultrasound makes it possible to penetrate electrically conductive walls.

     Smart materials for smart structures

Smart materials are capable of abruptly changing state, reversibly or not, when subjected to specific external stimuli. Some of them can, for example, change color when heated above a given limit, or change their external appearance when cracked. Some also have the power to repair themselves. At CiSMAT, we study the possibility to use these smart materials for SHM applications.

3 Research Fields Integrated sensors for smart structures We aim to develop innovative sensor solutions, based on passive and wireless devices, for […]

["post-13","page","type-page","status-publish","hentry
["GET
