Which personal data we collect and why

Comments
When users write comments on our website, we are collecting data, which is visible on the contact-form, furthermore the IP-address of the user and the User-Agent-String (to identify the browser) in order to support the detection of spam.

Out of your e-mail-address, an anonymized string can be created (also called ‘Hash’) and can be handed to the Gravatar-Service in order to check if you are using this service. The Data Privacy of the Gravatar-Service can be found at: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After the release of your comment, your profile picture in context with your comment will be visible to the public.

Media
If you are a registered user and upload photos on this website, you should avoid to upload them with an EXIF-GPS-Position. Users of this website could download pictures, which are stored at this website, and extract their information of the position.

Cookies
If you are writing a comment on our website, it can be an agreement to store your name, e-mail-address and website in Cookies. This is a comfort-function, so you do not have to type in your data all over again, when writing another comment. These Cookies are stored for one year.

If you have an account and you log in to our website, we will set a temporary Cookie in order to identify if your browser accepts Cookies. This Cookie contains no personal data and will be rejected when closing the browser.

When you register, we will set up some Cookies in order to store your login information and display options. Login-Cookies expire after two days and Cookies for display options expire after a year. If you choose “Stay logged on” while logging in, your login will be maintained for two weeks. With your log off of your account Registration-Cookies will be deleted.

When you are editing or publishing an article, an additional Cookie will be stored in your browser. This Cookie contains no personal data and refers only to the Article-ID of the article you have recently edited. The Cookie expires after a day.

Who we share your data with

We would like to inform you that all your personal data you are announcing at your usage of the blog is exclusively processed by the employees of CUAS and is exclusively used for internal purposes and are not passed on to third parties. An exception to that is data that we have to pass on to local authorities and offices because of administrative regulations.

How long we store your data

When you are writing a comment, the comment itself including meta data will be stored for an unlimited time. This way we are able to recognize and release further comments automatically instead of holding them back in a queue.

For users, who have registered to our website, we store additionally the personal data they give on their user profiles. All users are able to see, change or delete their personal data at all times (only the user name cannot be changed). Administrators of the website are also able to see and change these pieces of information.

Which rights you have on your data

If you own an account on this website or if you have written comments, you are able to request an export of your personal data including all data you have communicated with us. In addition you can request the removal of all of your personal data that we have stored. This does not include the data we have to store because of administrative, governmental or security-relevant necessities.

User comments could be checked by an automated service for spam detection.

How we protect your data

The Carinthia University of Applied Sciences treats your personal data carefully and conscientiously. When processing personal data, we observe the legal data protection regulations on the national and European levels. All data is stored on servers using high security standards and protected against unauthorized access and misuse.

 

Which rights you have concerning data privacy

We would like to inform you that you have the rights of access, rectification, deletion, limitation of processing and of objection to processing in relation to your personal data. This is to the extent permitted by law. Furthermore, you have rights concerning automated individual decisions and profiling. Inquires as well as the application of these rights may be addressed to datenschutz@fh-kaernten.at at any time.

If the data processing takes place on the basis of a consent, you can revoke your consent at any time by sending an e-mail to datenschutz@fh-kaernten.at, whereby the legality of the data processing carried out until the revocation remains unaffected by the revocation.
