Vision

Die Vision von SIENA ist der Aufbau eines neuen Kompetenzzentrums an der FH Kärnten für die raumzeitliche Analyse von hochauflösenden multidimensionalen Umweltdaten zur schnellen und besseren Entscheidungsunterstützung.  Tragende Säulen von SIENA sind der Einsatz von unbemannten Systemen („Unmanned Systems“) zur hochauflösenden Umweltdatenerfassung in Kombination mit intelligenten Algorithmen, die aus diesen Daten Informationen („Smart Data“) generieren.

Ziele

  1. die strategische Weiterentwicklung und der Ausbau des umfassenden interdisziplinären Know-Hows, das im Rahmen des Forschungsschwerpunktes „Umweltmonitoring“ an den Studiengängen „Geoinformation und Umwelttechnologien“ und „Spatial Information Management“ systematisch in den letzten Jahren erfolgreich aufgebaut wurde;
  2. spezifisch das COIN Projekt „RPAMSS – Remotely Piloted Aircraft Multi Sensor System“ und die daraus resultierenden sehr erfolgreichen Folgeanträge und
  3. die Pflege und der Ausbau des bestehenden multidisziplinären nationalen und internationalen Partnernetzwerkes.

Im Rahmen einer interdisziplinären Forschungskooperation zwischen der Abteilung 8 Umwelt, Wasser und Naturschutz des Amtes der Kärntner Landesregierung, den Industriepartnern flussbau iC und ViewCopter sowie dem Studiengang Geoinformation und Umwelt an der FH Kärnten als wissenschaftlichen Partner wurde das gesamte Wörtherseeufer mit einer Länge von fast 50 km hochpräzise digital in Zentimeter-Auflösung neu vermessen
