The SITAR project team is pleased to announce the ongoing organization of the SITAR Summer School 2026, a three-day intensive training course focusing on climate-friendly practices in the construction industry. The Summer School will take place from July 8-10, 2026 at the Carinthia University of Applied Sciences (CUAS), Villach Campus.
A practice-oriented, research-based educational format
The Summer School combines specialist lectures, practical laboratory exercises and real-life case studies from leading companies and institutions across the Alpine region. Participants will explore a range of topical issues, including
- Low-carbon cement alternatives
- Ultra-high-strength and ultra-high-performance concrete
- Sustainable structural design
- Advanced materials for repairs and retrofits
These topics are directly related to the SITAR project’s mission to accelerate the transition to environmentally sustainable building solutions in the Italy-Austria cooperation regions.
Target groups and participation
The Summer School is aimed at:
- 3rd year students in the Department of Civil Engineering
- Master’s and doctoral students
- Postdocs
- Experts from the industry
Classes will be held entirely in English to allow access to an international audience. Participation is possible in person, the registration fee is €95 and registrations are open until June 19, 2026. Students can register free of charge.
The event is organized in cooperation with SITAR project partners from science and industry, which underlines the application-oriented and interdisciplinary character of the programme.
Overview of location and schedule
All activities will take place on the CUAS Villach campus, including lab sessions showcasing the university’s advanced experimental infrastructure. The program runs all day on the following days:
