In 2020, we developed a prototype of the Drone Risk Austria web application as a proof of concept to demonstrate what automated risk assessment of drone operations might look like in the future, once comprehensive and dynamic geospatial data becomes available. Five years later, challenges regarding the availability of this data persist, and due to numerous legal changes, some earlier risk assessment approaches are no longer valid. Web technology has also advanced significantly. Therefore, we have decided to rewrite the Drone Risk application and add some new features. The beta version is scheduled to be made available to the public by the end of 2026. See you then!
