The SITAR project was proudly represented at FiB Lisbon 2026, one of the leading international conferences bringing together researchers, practitioners, and innovators in the fields of sustainable construction, building materials, and the built environment. The event provided an excellent platform for discussing the latest achievements and ongoing activities of the Interreg VI-A project “SITAR” (Supporting the Construction Industry’s Transition to Climate-Friendly Practices in the Alpine Region) between Italy and Austria.
Partners from the Carinthia University of Applied Sciences (CUAS) and the University of Udine (UNIUD) attended the conference, presented the progress made as part of the project, and exchanged knowledge with experts from across Europe and beyond. Throughout the event, the SITAR team presented its work on innovative approaches, advanced materials, and sustainable solutions that support the construction sector’s transition to more climate-friendly practices.

A particular highlight of the conference was the special session titled “Glocal Methods for Sustainable Design and Renovation with Advanced Materials,” organized by Antroula Georgiou and Norbert Randl. The session brought together experts specializing in innovative design methods, building renovation strategies, and advanced building materials, thereby creating a dynamic forum for knowledge exchange and interdisciplinary dialogue.
The event generated great interest among conference participants and sparked lively discussions on how local needs can be addressed through globally oriented, sustainable solutions.
