Trans_Space (TRANSformative Societal Political AND Cultural Engagement) is a research group of the Carinthia University of Applied Sciences, which deals with current changes such as migration, demographic change, understanding of democracy, issues of globalization, interculturality and multilingualism. All research areas are considered interdisciplinary. The main research interests of the group are participatory democracy and citizen participation, networking, diversity and intersectionality. Recent changes in these areas are taken up and described by the research group, but also serve as a basis for the derivation of practical instructions and should be incorporated into the consulting processes of politics, business, education and society.
The team of the research group Trans_Space currently consists of nine researchers from different disciplines and is headed by the legal and political scientist FH-Prof.in MMag.a Dr.in Kathrin Stainer-Hämmerle.
