The ICT 2018 took place in Vienna on 4-6 December 2018. This EU research and innovation event attracted 4800 visitors and focused on the European Union’s priorities in the digital transformation of society and industry. Margarete Schramböck, Austrian Minister for Digital and Economic Affairs, opened the event with a key note. Watch the full opening ceremony here.

The „Austrian Village“ hosted an exhibition with highlights from the Austrian research community, covering a broad range of ICT applications in economy and society. Carinthia University of Applied Sciences, represented by Johannes Oberzaucher, Daniela Ströckl and Daniela Krainer proudly presented the current research project Smart VitAALity, a Pilot Region for testing and evaluating Active and Assisted Living Technologies to promote healthy ageing.
As a side event the Imagine18 Campaign took place. During the Session „Smart Living, Trustworthy IoT and Datamarket“, organized together with AAL Austria and further pilot regions, we were presenting Smart VitAALity and led a workshop discussion related to “Anchoring Telemonitoring into AAL (Eco-)Systems“. The key points taken into account were the challenges and barriers of exploitation and deployment as well as promising business modells and the relevant stakeholders to be involved.
