Innovation through cooperation – the Carinthia University of Applied Sciences and TYROMOTION Advanced Rehabilitation Technology are taking their long-term collaboration to the next level.
In early spring 2021, Carinthia University of Applied Sciences was provided with the end-effector apparatus LEXO® by TYROMOTION to be applied in research and teaching.
The innovative transfer options maximize net therapy time and increase the utilization rate. With its high adaptability LEXO® can be adjusted precisely and used for a wide range of patients. Students of the degree programs Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy benefit directly from the practical application of robotic rehabilitation devices in lectures.
This ensures and expands the interdisciplinary collaboration between the study programs Engineering & IT and Health Sciences & Social Work.
The focus is on research topics related to
- evidence-based methods and therapy
- sensor-based measurement techniques to optimize and individualize the therapy path and
- monitoring based on data science.
Through the cooperation of different professions like occupational therapy and physiotherapy, medical technology, robotics, sensor technology and data analysis, the user-centered and participatory research is performed in a holistic manner.
The technical innovations and the concrete benefits for the end-users are given priority equally.
